Two Great Products. One Slightly Better Than the Other.
on June 21, 2015
By Linda Hendrex
This review is for Julian Bakery Paleo Wraps AND Pure Wraps, Paleo Coconut Wraps. These are competing companies who produce an almost identical product. I wasn’t sure which to buy and so I decided to invest in both and pick which one tasted best and works best for my needs. The review that I am posting here is for both products and each ad page is getting the exact same review – although my star rating for Julian Bakery Paleo wraps if 4 stars as opposed to 5 stars for the Pure Wraps, Paleo Coconut Wraps.
Simply the best!

Simply the best! Delicious, gluten free, even my delicate tummy likes this one. 🙂 This brand has no added coconut oil, so taste better and last longer. Love being able to make wraps again!
A subtle sweetness and yet durable enough to keep form and not …

Pure wraps are very tasty! A subtle sweetness and yet durable enough to keep form and not tear. I wrapped all kinds of foods in mine, from eggs, bacon, avocados- to grilled chicken spinach and tomatoes. The only thing is you only get 4 in a pack and they are pricey.$$$
I liked them more than I thought I would

I was really impressed with this product. I liked them more than I thought I would. Everyone’s taste buds are different but to me they did not have an overwhelming coconut taste and I did not find them too greasy as some others’ stated. The product is exactly as stated – it is a nice, clean ingredient food that is made from coconut so if you don’t like the taste of coconut they are probably not for you. I used them for both a dessert wrap and with savory ingredients and enjoyed both. I wouldn’t suggest trying to fill them with something that works against the coconut flavor profile. There were so many recipes ideas out there on google for how to use them that you don’t even need to be creative. As far as the texture, I didn’t mind it as some of the less favorable reviews complained about. It’s coconut and it has the texture of coconut…it’s that simple! It’s almost like the texture of a nori wrapper or a lightly steamed collard wrap if I had to compare the texture to something. They are firm but pliable. The advantage of that firmness is that you can easily spread ingredients on them without them tearing and they help up well to moist ingredients. They definitely have their place in my nutritional rotation and I will be ordering again.
Flexible and do not crumble
on September 1, 2016
The wraps are actually flexible, like ‘real’ wraps. It’s tasty, and holds what you wrap in it quite well. The square shape is helpful if you wrap the interior substance starting with one corner. It does not break, even when you bite into it. I have tried a number of gluten free wraps (since it’s paleo, it is also gluten free, of course), this is the only one that has not crumbled. I don’t think its even capable of crumbling, you’d have to deliberately tear it. The package says not to cook it, and I haven’t, so if you try something like that, YMMV.
Taste really good!

Never used these before, but am trying to do a Paleo diet/Whole 30 and these were recommended. I was pretty dubious about it being weird tasting or pasty. But, in all honesty, it’s really good. I sauteed one in butter and added a bit of sugar free jam…it was a nice treat. There is a coconut flavor but it’s not overpowering. I plan to try with meats and vegetables for lunch next week. There’s curry flavor and turmeric which I have not tried. I’d recommend this brand as it came fast and was packaged safely…no breaks or drying out. I’m going to place another larger order for these because I like them and think it’s good to give up gluten for a while. It’s a good alternative for me and allows a nice outer wrap, other than lettuce.
Tastes good if you can afford them
on January 11, 2015
I really like these but I wish the price would go down. Eating healthy should not be so expensive.
love the mouthfeel and taste, wish they were cheaper
on October 14, 2017
loved the mouthfeel of these above paleo wraps and gemwraps, but gem wraps are a close second and since they are cheaper, i will be orddering those on the regular unless these come down in price. gemwraps are like thin fruit roll us but healthy. these are thicker tham gemwraps and paleowraps, and have a slight coconutty sweetness, like paleowraps USED to have. great consistency and taste, but i guess that is subjective. i can’t have these regularly simply because of the price, could be a little bigger. yum. they don’t fall apart.
