Paleo finally got it right!

I love Paleo diet/lifestyle but you had to admit that most of the adepts are lunatics and have no clue what things should taste like. In the Paleo mind ” if it looks like the real thing, you can trick your brain into thinking it’s the real thing” I’ve tried NUMEROUS paleo pancake recipes. With Banana, Eggs and almond meal…i usually take 1-2 bites before i toss it in the garbage. Either tastes incredibly chalky and dry, or the egg overpowers the flavor and tastes like you’re eating fried egg with sprinkled almond meal.

I took a chance on this product because I’ve really been craving some pancakes lately. My experience with “paleo pancakes” has been, shall we say, less than stellar over the years.

This is the first Paleo pancake mix I’ve tried. I settled on this one because it was a bigger bag than the other brands. I was fully expecting it to taste like crap but they are REALLY YUMMY! They don’t taste like traditional pancakes but that’s expected with specialty diets, I might even like these more! I’m actually thinking I might be able to use it as a cupcake mix for those sweet cravings. Awesome product. I wish the price on such items would go down, but it is what it is I guess. Definitely will be ordering again!
Delicious, fluffy keto-friendly pancakes

I’m on the keto diet, and I’m really loving this pancake mix. I’ve made other cream cheese based pancakes on the keto diet and although those are nice, I really like these pancakes. They’re fluffy and thick. They’re a little grainy but it really doesn’t bother me. It’s fast and easy to make them and the portion in the bag is just right if you actually measure the portions out. The necessary ingredients to make the pancakes other than the mix is 1 egg, 3 tbs milk (any kind), 1/2 tbs oil. I love that I always have these on hand. I prefer to use half and half (keto-ers usually use heavy cream but that upsets my stomach) and olive oil (since coconut oil also upsets my stomach). I also add a little extra Vietnamese cinnamon and often an extract like vanilla extract or maple extract.
Delicious, High Fat, Simple. A low-carbers dream.

Pancakes are the thing I miss most from my days before going low-carb and these really hit the spot. I wouldn’t say that they are a perfect replacement for real pancakes. But, what they are is pretty amazing in their own right. They hold together pretty well, soak up butter and syrup perfectly and are just delicious. They are also brain-dead simple to make. If you can make Bisquick pancakes, you can make these.
Enjoyable Pancakes, Nutty Flavor, Would buy Again and Recommend

These are great and delicious! The nut flavor really comes out, for some reason it reminds me of the wheat germ I used to put on cereal as a kid even though it has no wheat, of course. It took a bit longer than the 2 minutes each side to cook, however, we’ve had issues with the burners at our place, so I do not know if it was due to that or the burners.

I love breakfast food so when I saw this I knew I had to try it. It was so good!! I keep telling people it tastes like a spice cake. It is really good with fresh blueberries and a drizzle of maple syrup. I like it better than regular pancakes.
Good but expensive alternative to pancakes
on January 22, 2018
This was a good substitute for high carb pancakes for me, although quite expensive. I personally can’t tell the difference between this and high carb products, so it might be worth a try for those who like to have pancakes with a very low glycemic index.
Best grain free pancake mix
on December 8, 2014
We try to eat a more paleo/primal diet and need to find alternatives to eggs for breakfast. We have tried making pancakes many times before, some just didn’t come out right and others although pretty good were a bit of a fuss to make. This mix has been amazing. It’s super easy to get together- add oil, milk of any kind and an egg. We use melted butter as our oil of choice. They come out perfectly and even our kids love them. Not too sweet. Just wish it wasn’t as pricey as I will need to keep a pack at all times.

I tried quite a few pre-made paleo pancake batters but this one stands head and shoulders over all the others. No over-eggy flavor or consistency. Like many of the other batters you still need to cook this one a bit slower than normal batter but the end results are amazing. I will keep this mix on my regular order list.
